LET ‘WORLD CONGRESS ON MATRIARCHY’
HOLD ITS 4TH SESSION IN MEGHALAYA
(I am the Queen, the gatherer of riches, I was the first to know the holy ones.. .. make strife among the people, I pervade heaven and earth. Rigveda 10.125.3/6)
Though the collapse of European socialism led by Soviet Union has proved that primitive communism was a disastrous utopia, communists world over continue to equate matriarchy to rule of women over men, hence inequality in absolute unrelative sense. Hence women had to take up the cause of the historical reality and social inevitability of matriarchy world over and found ‘World Congress on Matriarchy’ at Luxemburg at about four years ago. Papers from nearly all over the world, including China, were presented there. In the same year of 2009, I had taken up the writing of my Vol. IV entitled ‘Primitive Communism, Matriarchy-Gynocracy and Modern Socialism’. I had taken my final departure from classiest Marxism and expounded Sautrantika Marxism in my Vol. III: ‘Caste-ending Bourgeois Democratic Revolution & Its Socialist Revolution and Consummation’ (2005). I had closed it after broaching the inconclusive discussion on Dialectical Logic. Human mind can be changed socialistically only by dialectical logic (DL), which is the logic of the subconscious. European socialism crashed verily because it could not discover it and the communist- ruled countries of China, Viet Nam, N. Korea and Cuba are standing perplexed before the task of building socialism. Mine task is different. Caste-ending bourgeois democratic revolution is hinged on the discovery of the DL. All efforts of the Dignaga School, especially the great Dharmakirti (+700), were directed towards it, as it had fashioned the philosophy and epistemology of the dual mind. But time was against it. Now time is pressing for it.
I took up the challenge in my Vol. IV. The Tantriki Sruti of matriarchy- gynocracy and its successor of a-brahmani current had been hurled in subconscious by the Vaidiki Sruti and its successor the brahmani current. I had unearthed it broadly in my three volumes. The solution had to be wrested by connecting the individual subconscious to the social subconscious. I accomplished the conjunction in my Vol. IV. The papers presented in the founding session of the ‘World Congress on Matriarchy’ helped me in this conjunctive breakthrough. I thank the founders and contributors of the epochmaking Congress. Equality: bourgeois and socialist With the failure of European socialism bourgeois ideologues exultingly claimed that bourgeois democracy and equality are the highest and nothing is higher than that. The din grows louder with the communist-ruled nations’ inability to build socialism. The system of democracy and equality that was available for comparative building of socialist democracy and equality after the fall of European socialism and its utopian primitive communism has been the trinity of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity of the French bourgeois democratic revolution which has been proved to be superficial, bourgeois. The search for genuine equalitarian democracy started afresh and this time its pioneers were women, the first victims of surplus production and slavery. The founders of the World Congress think that it was matriarchy. Though some of the papers go up to queenship, the meaning of matriarchy being rule of mothers which excluded men from its equalitarian democracy, the authors of those papers think that queenship is outside matriarchy. Whatever accounts of gynocracy exist are not indisputable, and their indisputability is submerged in subconscious. Though Marxism is the most advanced philosophy of consciousness, its homogeneous conception of human mind, even with its dialectically aided formal logic, is unable to crack open the historical subconscious. All contributors apply the term tribe not only to pre-matriarchal human groups, but also to matriarchies. All matriarchies were ruled by clan-mothers and even non-clan-mothers were excluded from its single house council (sabha). Sabha is a compound word: sa + bha. Therefore it does not belong to matriarchy, which does not develop beyond dialect, hence without grammar, which comes with language. Apte’s dictionary does not tell the etymology of sabha. Therefore it belongs to pre-Vedic Arsha language. And Arsha language does not belong to the catur-varnya Vaidiki Sruti, but to the equalitarian Tantriki Sruti. Tantra means agriculture and with it originated agricultural magic of Tantriki Sruti. Arsha is derived from rshi. Agriculture was invented world over by women and therefore the first rshis were not Vasishtha, etc., but gynocratic women. In the Vedic hymn Rashtri-devi, Rashtri sings that she is the creator of yajna, which is the ritual name of tribal assembly (samiti). It means that in matriarchy there was only council manned only by women and the rashtri, after ascending to queenship, created not only the samiti, which etymologically means, sexual equality, but also the tribe. The Arsha term for tribe is gana and it is derived from gan, which takes us to Tantriki Sruti. There is no masculine synonym for rashtri, which proves that Kingship originated from woman. Devi did not mean originally queen or goddess. It denoted then etymologically rashtri’s main function of redistributing tribal land and wealth among its clans (kula) equally with the help of dice (aksha) and dice-board (irina or adhi-devana). Adhi-devana is the unique contribution of rashtri in world gynocracy, while dice was common in all gynocracies world over. This unique contribution was made by Nir-rti, the elected Vi-raj(t) of the rti gana. the Atharva-vedic hymn of Vi-raj declares that Viraj first created sabha and then samiti and they who who are elected to them are called sabhyas (exclusively women) and samityas (of both sexes) respectively. The tradition of clan mother constituting the council was set aside and universal franchise prevailed, with the exception that the higher house : sabha, was then reserved for female sabhyas. Nirrti used akshas as votes for her electoral democracy. No. indologist, either Indian or western, has understood that the Vedic term Vai-raj meant gynocracy and that aksha and adhidevana were means of ensuring equality and democracy of the Vairaj; but it is still insisted that they were instrumentes only of gambling. The great Marxist Indologist Debiprasad Chattopadhyay, in his adherence to unilinear Marxism, has imposed primitive communism on the whole tribal period and refused to research into the equalitarian reality of Indian matriarchy-gynocracy. Kasambi, rightly considered to be the greatest Marxist historian, follows suit and forces Urvasi to tell Pururava in his translation of the Vedic hymn X.95 that by copulating with her for four years Pururava became the king of her body, a gynocratic queen. Ambedkar the greatest leader of the ex-untouchable social proletariat who are destined to lead the cast-ending bourgeois democratic revolution, believed that the trinity of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity emerged from the French Revolution. But it was generated by Nirrti’s Vairaj in the form of Svatantrya, Samata and Mitrata. This trinity takes India beyond the caste-ending revolution, to Indian socialism. Though I have restricted myself in this paper to unfolding Indian matriarchy-gynocracy, I had to unearth broadly the subconscious of Indian history in my three volumes in order to decipher Indian matriarchy-gynocracy. For socialist democracy and equality cannot be built up only by comparing it with bourgeois democracy and equality. More democratic and equalitarian gynocratic one has to be brought into the comparison and their sublation will yield realistic and creative socialist democracy and equality. Uniqueness of socialism Marxism’s unilinearity has led it to visualise socialism to be general for all countries. Dignag’s Sautrantika Vijnanavada defined every phenomenon to be sva-lakshana (unique). Similarity does not lead to identity as in Marxism. Every phenomenon has to be investigated separately. Socialism of every country will be unique. Matriarchy- gynocracy of every country was unique. Greek and Roman, Indian and Chinese, Mayan and Aztec and Peruvian matriarchies and gynocracies were unique. Morgan’s investigation into North American matriarchy - gynocracy led him to the utopia of primitive communism and because Engels and Marx accepted it the tragedy of European socialism took place. Imitation is disastrous in revolutionary movement and the loss of human life it entails is unpardonable. It is not yet clear whether the Amazons were only matriarchal or progressed gynocracy. They could not have been invincible without being gynocratic. The Chinese Mosuos dwelt near a lake and not settled in a river valley like the two Chinese gynocracies recorded by Chinese history and that is why they (Mosuos) remained matriarchal and nonmilitant. The paper ‘New World Civilisations’ presented in the Mexican World Congress, when dealing with the Mayans, says, ‘Each Mayan centre was governed by a hereditary priest king, although some very few states may have had ruling queens in earlier times, before the sixth century....’ The paper mentions ancient South America’s food crop to be maize in comparison with rice of Eurasia. It has been established that agriculture was the creation of women world over. Buddha says that rice was discovered in an uncultivated state- ‘a-kattha-pako sali’ and then cultivated. Was maize discovered growing wildly and then cultivated by Mayan women? The paper misses this most important point. For agriculture, and then human civilisation itself, could not develop without agricultural magic. In Arsha language the pratipadika ‘ma’ means mother and when it takes the particle ‘ya’ the word ‘ma-ya’ means magic. Matriarchy developed fertility magic and it was metamorphosed into agricultural magic in gynocracy. In the Arsha term vai-raj for gynocracy the preposition ‘vai’ stands for woman. Vai-yakarana means grammarian. The first male Arsha grammarian Sakatayana was matrilinear - son of the woman Sakati. Before him all vai-yakaranas were women. The first battle he had to fight was on the etymology of Nir-rti. Rti meant satya (truth) and thus Nirrti meant the Supreme truth. His antagonist, the patrilinear Brahamna grammarian Gargya (son of the father Garga) wanted to prove that the preposition turning negative makes Nirrti the demoness of Untruth! The Supreme truth of Nirrti’s Vairaj that was hurled in the subconscious by the Vaidiki Sruti has to be resurrected by holding ‘World Congress on Matriarchy’s’ 4th session in Meghalaya. Maghalaya’s Vairaj legacy When P.R.T. Gurdon was sent by the British government to administer the Himalayan adivasis at the beginning of the 20eth century, he found that the Khasis were living in gynocracy. He wrote their account in his ‘The Khasis’, which was published by Oxford University in 1914. No further research in the glorious past has taken place, though the Meghalayans still live a matrilinear life. That is why I am requesting the ‘World Congress on Matriarchy’ and Meghlaya’s MP Agatha Sangama to hold the Congress’ 4th session in Maghalaya.
